Matrixyl® is an innovative cosmetic ingredient known for its ability to stimulate the natural production of collagen and elastin in the skin. It acts as a “messenger” that sends signals to skin cells, promoting their renewal from within and helping to maintain a firmer and smoother appearance.
This peptide mimics the action of matrikines, small protein fragments that are released when collagen and elastin break down naturally. In our Anakena multi-active face cream, we use the anti-aging peptide marketed as Matrixyl.®, listed in the INCI (International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients) as Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-3, formulated together with butylene glycol, carbomer, and polysorbate 20. These components contribute to a pleasant texture and the correct dispersion of the active ingredient in the formula, helping it to blend evenly into the skin.
