Matrixyl

Matrixyl

Matrixyl® is an innovative cosmetic ingredient known for its ability to stimulate the natural production of collagen and elastin in the skin. It acts as a “messenger” that sends signals to skin cells, promoting their renewal from within and helping to maintain a firmer and smoother appearance.

This peptide mimics the action of matrikines, small protein fragments that are released when collagen and elastin break down naturally. These matrikines signal fibroblasts, the cells responsible for producing collagen and elastin, to reactivate the synthesis of new structural elements. Similarly, Matrixyl® helps reactivate these processes of regeneration and support of the dermal matrix.

Epidermis Dermis skin

In our Anakena multi-active face cream, we use the anti-aging peptide marketed as Matrixyl.®, listed in the INCI (International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients) as Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-3, formulated together with butylene glycol, carbomer, and polysorbate 20. These components contribute to a pleasant texture and the correct dispersion of the active ingredient in the formula, helping it to blend evenly into the skin.

Thanks to its action on the skin matrix, Matrixyl® helps smooth the appearance of wrinkles, improve texture and elasticity, and support longer-lasting hydration. It also helps skin look more even and resilient against everyday external aggressions, such as weather changes and other environmental factors.

It is suitable for all skin types and is especially beneficial for mature skin or skin that is beginning to show fine lines and loss of firmness. For visible results, it is important to use the cream consistently as part of a daily skincare routine. Matrixyl® can be found in the following Anakena product: multiactive face cream.
