SIMPLE TRICKS FOR A MORE BALANCED LIFE

To speak of vital balance is to speak of harmony, peace and tranquility. But, what is the most important type of balance, the one inside us or the external one?

If you are like most people, I'm sure that on too many occasions you have sacrificed what you really want or feel, in order to make others happy or not to hurt them. Others liking us and trying to meet their expectations of us is not a bad thing, as long as it doesn't go against ourselves.

Being "at ease in our shoes" is the only thing that really guarantees us a harmonious and balanced life. It is not easy, nor can it always be achieved, but it is highly advisable to strive to be at ease with ourselves and, of course, with those around us, as long as possible.

Here are some suggestions for everyday actions that will help you think more about yourself and feel more at ease:

Set limits and learn to say NO

It seems simple, but saying NO is sometimes very difficult. However, if you don't know how to refuse it means that in many occasions you accept burdens that hurt you or you do things that you don't really want to do.

So strive to learn how to say NO. Knowing how to do so is as important as saying YES and will help you to be more in harmony with your inner self.

You may find it difficult at first, but when you see that you feel better in the long run, you will be clearer about the importance of a good NO said on time.

Surround yourself with positive people

Have you ever stopped to think that some of the people around you are just taking your energy, giving you problems and stealing your happiness? It doesn't matter if they are "friends", family, bosses or co-workers. Stay away from them.

Choose carefully the people you spend your time with. Surround yourself with people who are cheerful, optimistic, eager to move forward and be happy. Such company is the best you can have, not only because they will help you through difficult times, but also because they will pass on their positivity and make you a happier person.

Work on something you enjoy

You are not obligated to do a job you don't enjoy, even if you sometimes think otherwise. It may not be easy to change and it may be scary, but remember that most of your day is spent working so it's ideal to enjoy it as much as possible.

Find something you really like (although that won't mean it's easy) and if you don't want to change, then change your perspective and look for all the positive things your job brings you, that way you'll enjoy doing it.

Listen to your body, it will guide you wisely

One of the things we often do is "mistreat" our body, even if we are not aware of it. Loving yourself means taking care of your body and listening to it carefully. No one better than it will tell you what it really needs to be well and have energy.

Eat well, with healthy food and at appropriate times, do not fall into thinking that eating is the least important thing.

Get adequate rest, your body needs sleep to replenish energy and adequately face the day to day.

Wear comfortable clothes and shoes, prioritizing feeling good over your appearance, or over the opinion of others. Your body will thank you.

Enjoy time in nature

Contact with nature is an excellent medicine, it relaxes and recharges the batteries, so whenever possible enjoy moments outdoors, in contact with the sea, trees or mountains.

It is always possible, even if you live in the middle of a city full of people, cars and stress. Escape to a park and you will see that the trees and the sound of the birds will make you feel wonderful.
