The name of our cosmetics brand: ANAKENA, is inspired by the beautiful beach of Rapa Nui, ranked as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.
But Anakena beach is more than just a beautiful beach, with white sands and crystal clear turquoise sea. Anakena is the place where the history of Rapa Nui began. It was here that King Hotu Matu'a landed for the first time and established the first populated settlement on the island, giving birth to the Rapa Nui culture.
A sample of its history and importance can still be admired in the Ahu Nau Nau, where the first eye of a moai was also found, and which can now be seen in the Easter Island Museum.
