Ra’ā Pura-Pura Monoï de Tahiti with Shine: dermatologically tested

Ra’ā Pura-Pura Monoï de Tahiti: dermatologically tested

At Anakena – Natural Cosmetics, beauty, sensory experiences, and skin care always go hand in hand with quality and safety.

That’s why we wanted to take it a step further with our Ra’ā Pura-Pura Monoï de Tahiti – Shimmering Tanning Oil and have it undergo an independent dermatological test conducted by the J.S. Hamilton laboratory in Poland.

The results confirm something that is essential to us: Ra’ā Pura-Pura is very well tolerated by the skin and has been classified as non-irritating.

A dermatological test involving 25 volunteers

The study was conducted under dermatological supervision with 25 adult volunteers. During the evaluation, the skin's reaction following application of the product was carefully observed.

The results were excellent: no irritation or allergic reactions were observed in any of the participants. The laboratory confirmed that Ra’ā Pura-Pura meets the skin compatibility criteria evaluated in the study and classified it as non-irritating.

The study was conducted in accordance with European standards for evaluating the skin compatibility of cosmetic products, including the Cosmetics Europe guidelines for assessing skin compatibility.

For us, compliance with regulations is the starting point

All of our products must comply with current regulations in order to be sold in Chile. But for Anakena, that compliance is just the starting point.

Whenever we believe it adds real value, we choose to supplement these requirements with additional independent evaluations that allow us to gain an even better understanding of our products and to support their quality and tolerance with concrete data.

Conducting this dermatological test is part of our approach: developing cosmetics that not only stand out for their textures, scents, and ingredients, but are also backed by rigorous formulation, testing, and evaluation.

Ra’ā Pura-Pura: Radiance and Skincare Inspired by Polynesia

Ra’ā Pura-Pura—which means «shining sun» in the Rapa Nui language—is our second Monoï de Tahiti oil and was developed exclusively for Anakena by our manufacturer in France.

Its formula combines authentic Monoï de Tahiti with vegetable oils, primarily coconut oil, tiare flower, carrot and rosemary extracts, vitamin E, and fine mica mineral particles that give the skin a delicate, luminous tan.

With a silky texture that absorbs quickly, it visually enhances the skin's natural golden tone and leaves an attractive, smooth, and delicately scented satin finish.

Our two Monoï de Tahiti oils, dermatologically tested

This new finding builds on the dermatological evaluation previously conducted—also by J.S. Hamilton—for our classic Monoï de Tahiti Tiaré.

As such, our two Monoï de Tahiti oils have been dermatologically tested. Each has its own unique character and recommended use, but both feature authentic Monoï de Tahiti, Polynesian inspiration, and Anakena’s commitment to quality and skin care.

We are aware of the responsibility we have as a cosmetics brand: our products are applied directly to our customers’ skin. That is why we do not simply comply with current regulations; we also conduct independent tests and evaluations whenever we believe they provide additional assurance regarding the skin tolerance of our formulas. This is part of our commitment to quality, safety, and to those who trust Anakena—always without resorting to animal testing.
