Anakena - Natural Cosmetics is a "indie brand"that is to say an independent, young brand, born from a personal dream of creating something special and different, inspired by that unique place in the world called Rapa Nui. Behind our company there is no big capital or investment funds. The development of our cosmetic line is fed every step of the way by this dream and an immense passion that we want to share with you.

We are Responsible

At Anakena - Natural Cosmetics we believe that we all share a responsibility to protect our planet and the people who live on it. Our mission is to create innovative and environmentally friendly beauty products by using high quality natural ingredients. We meticulously design our products to ensure that they are gentle and free of harsh and irritating ingredients such as sulfates, parabens, aluminum, propylene glycol, mineral oil, artificial dyes, triclosan or talc.

We are brave

The creator of Anakena, PETRA KLIMSCHA, originally from Munich, Germany, emigrated to Easter Island more than 25 years ago. In her adopted home she started in the cosmetics market by making handmade organic soaps from local ingredients, from her own garden and from the surrounding area.

Along the way she came into contact with producers in the field of natural cosmetics and, at that moment, she took the risk of taking the big leap and launching a new and daring idea: to create Anakena - Natural Cosmetics, a line of skin and hair care products containing the best of the essence, raw materials and aroma of the wonderful island of Rapa Nui and Polynesia, and to become an ambassador of its beauty, charm and sensuality.

Her journey has been long, full of challenges and hard work, but the results have been worth it. Today, the Anakena cosmetics brand is not only sold all over the world, but also throughout the world. Chile of the hand of a wonderful family of distributorsbut also in Europa.

That’s why, for several years now, MILAGROS PORTACARRERO She works with us by devoting her full attention and effort to reviewing and editing every text, email, and social media post, and by helping us come up with new ideas to promote our products.
A lover of literature, theater, and travel, she is co-author of the blog of our website, through which we want to transmit to our Anakena Lovers, beauty, health and wellness tips, as well as keep them up to date with all our news.

WE ARE COMMITTED

One of the most important parts of the work at Anakena - Natural Cosmetics is the preparation of the orders that we send to our wholesale customers throughout continental Chile. This task is in the hands of our beloved ISAURA TOBAR. For her, age is not an inconvenient at the moment of working; every day with her experienced hands she prepares and sends the orders and takes control of our warehouse in Santiago.

Isa has been a fundamental support in all Petra Klimscha's endeavors for many years. Since they met more than 20 years ago when Isa took Petra into her residence in Santiago, she has become her great friend. When Petra moved to live in Easter Island she helped her in all her adventures: first she supplied her in Café Ra'a, then in her ecological store "Rapa Nui Natural Products" and, since a couple of years ago Isa's home hosts the branch of our company in Santiago.

Anakena - Natural Cosmetics is fortunate to have some wonderful models. All of them are beautiful women of the Rapa Nui ethnic group, beautiful on the outside and most importantly, with a great inner beauty that makes us admire and respect them. Women with an enormous artistic talent that makes them worthy ambassadors of the rich culture of the island.

TAHIRA, in addition to being a true top model on Easter Island, has been one of the Queens of the Tapati Rapa Nui Festival, the annual celebration held during the first two weeks of February, where two contestants compete alongside their families, dance groups, and competition teams, to showcase the best of their art and ancestral culture.

ABIGAIL, affectionately known as VITI in Rapa Nui, is another of our beautiful Anakena models. Viti is a great ambassador for Rapa Nui culture; not only has she been queen of the Tapati Rapa Nui, but she also admirably shares all her knowledge of Rapa Nui dance and culture with all the dance groups that participate in the festival each year. In addition, Viti is well known on the island as the anchor of the news program on the local channel Mata o te Rapa Nui.

ARIANA, was our lovely model for the photo shoot we did with the talented photographer Ricado Tepano on Anakena Beach, during the time when Rapa Nui was closed due to the pandemic. In addition to being beautiful and talented, Ariana is a great entrepreneur and the owner of the beautiful Vai Marama Storewhere it offers our cosmetics.

HITURANGI, better known on the island as HITU, has demonstrated her great talent as a model in the photo shoot we did at Anakena Beach. She is a wonderful artist, and through her gaze and her movements, it’s very easy to see the deep love she feels for her island, which is captured in each of her photographs.

This beautiful design, as well as the other drawings that appear on the web site and that represent the Active Ingredients of our cosmetics have been created by the talented Rapa Nui artist GUSTAVO BÓRQUEZ PAOA, whose artistic name is Taku.
It is a real luxury for us to have the talent of Gustavo, who is the main artist of the Tapati Rapa Nui stage in Hanga Vare Vare and has also been in charge of beautifying several buildings on the island with his characteristic and colorful drawings inspired by the culture and customs of Rapa Nui. His work can be seen in the SERNATUR offices, schools, the Municipality, etc.
